  • ‘Open’ is an adjective that means ‘not closed’.
  • They left the door wide open.
  • Is the shop open in the evening?  
  • ‘Opened’ is the past tense of the verb ‘open’.

  • We can say ‘is opened’ when it’s done by someone.
